The Council is the voice of the Quebec forest industry. Softwood and hardwood sawmilling, veneer milling, pulp, paper, cardboard and panel companies and engineered wood manufacturers operating in Quebec alone generate $12.9 billion in economic activity each year, nearly $4 billion in salaries and benefits, of which nearly $1.5 billion is returned to governments in the form of taxes paid by businesses and workers.
